This month’s Aurifil Artisan Challenge was to use various thread choices in a project!

Take a look at my Stitch Pink 2023 Project for sponsored by Aurifil Thread and Moda Fabrics featuring the Lighthearted Collection by Thimble Blossoms. This wall hanging features cross hatch quilting that highlights the patchwork and free motion stitching around the applique!

Free motion raw edge applique is one of my new favorite techniques. Combining the artistic freedom of making my own design and then the free flowing of securing the pieces with free motion stitching is a fun and enjoyable way to finish a project!

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">When I first saw the new Deja Vu Nightshade Collection by Tula Pink for FreeSpirit Fabrics, I knew I had to make something fun and special! For our Aurifil Thread August Challenge, we were challenged to use threads from our welcome packages. I knew a wall hanging with my Water Colors quilt pattern would look great, along with these amazing colors of thread!</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">How exactly do you use a 12 weight thread in your machine? Good news, with just a few adjustments, you can easily use this thicker thread with beautiful results! </p>
